Responsible Resources for Student Success

Public dollars should reach students, classrooms, and the supports that matter most.

Strong schools require responsible, student-centered budgeting. Every dollar should:
- Improve student outcomes
- Support educators and staff
- Maintain safe, secure campuses
- Expand opportunity for every student

That starts with the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP), the roadmap for how state funding is spent.

I am committed to building Fullerton's LCAP with real input from all our families, including multilingual families, and to tracking whether it is actually working for students.

I will work to maximize state funding and grant opportunities so Fullerton schools are not leaving resources on the table that could go directly to our students.

That same transparency applies to Measure N bond funds. Fullerton families and taxpayers deserve to know every bond dollar is used effectively for school facilities, safety upgrades, modernization, and improvements that directly benefit students.

As current Trustee, I bring real experience overseeing major budgets across education, nonprofit, public, and private-sector settings. I know how to ask the hard questions and make sure every dollar, state, grant, or bond is aligned with what all Fullerton students and families need.

Family Partnership and Accountability

Clear communication, real transparency, and schools that listen.

Families should not have to fight to understand what is happening in their child’s education;
Schools must communicate clearly, listen respectfully, and make it easier for parents and caregivers to be true partners.

I will prioritize transparent communication, multilingual family engagement, responsive leadership, and accountability around student outcomes, budgets, district decisions, and Measure N implementation.

As someone who had to navigate education systems without a clear roadmap, I know how important it is for families to have information, access, and a voice.

Real-World Opportunities

STEM, arts, college readiness, career exploration, and hands-on learning.

K–8 education should prepare students not only for the next grade, but for life.

‍In Fullerton School District, that means every student deserves access to STEM, the arts, career and technical education (CTE), leadership development, financial literacy, and hands-on learning that helps them discover who they are and what they can become.

My background as a Dean in the California Community Colleges system gives me the experience to build stronger, real-world pathways for our students, starting well before high school.

I know what it takes to connect K–8 learning to the career and college opportunities that come next, and I am committed to bringing that same pathway-building work to the Fullerton School District.

I will strengthen partnerships with Fullerton Joint Union High School District, Fullerton College, Cal State Fullerton, local employers, nonprofits, and community organizations so that students in every Fullerton neighborhood has access to STEM programs, CTE pathways, and real career exploration starting in elementary and middle school.

Safe, Modern, and Supportive Schools

Students deserve campuses that are safe, welcoming, and built for learning.

School safety is more than facilities and emergency plans. It is also about:
- School climate
- Student wellness
- Bullying prevention
- Mental health support
- Making sure every child feels connected to their school community.

With Measure N bond funds, Fullerton has an important opportunity to improve school facilities, modernize classrooms, support safe campuses, and invest in learning environments that reflect the needs of today’s students. These funds must be managed responsibly, transparently, and with a clear focus on student safety, accessibility, and long-term value for taxpayers.

I will work to strengthen safe and welcoming campuses where students, teachers, staff, and families feel respected. I will also prioritize attendance, student belonging, and support systems that address challenges early, before students fall behind or disconnect from school.

Every student deserves to walk onto campus knowing they matter.

Strong Academics for Every Student

Reading, writing, math, and the support students need to succeed.

Every student deserves a strong academic foundation. That means making sure students can:
- Read confidently
- Write clearly
- Think critically
- Build the math skills needed for the future

I will prioritize early literacy, math intervention, academic support, and clear data so families know how students are doing.

Furthermore, we must close opportunity gaps and make sure English Learners, students with disabilities, foster youth, students experiencing homelessness, and low-income students receive the support they deserve.

Remember, strong schools begin with strong fundamentals.
